Your day begins at dawn in Puerto Jiménez, where you’ll meet your certified local guide. After a short drive, arrive at Matapalo, a remote beach near Corcovado National Park’s main entrance.
As you begin your hike, keep your eyes open for Costa Rica’s incredible wildlife. All four monkey species, sloths, coatis, and a wide variety of tropical birds are commonly spotted here. The trail is flat and beginner-friendly, making it suitable for both kids and adults.
Midway through, you’ll reach a refreshing waterfall after a short 15-minute walk off the main trail. This is the perfect spot for a break, photos, or simply enjoying the serenity of the rainforest.
By midday, the hike winds back to the Matapalo entrance, where your tour concludes. Guests can choose to return with the guide or remain in Matapalo to continue exploring on their own.
